From our Houses, the fun filled activities of Castlegregory, the Maharees and the magnificent scenery of the Dingle Peninsula are on offer. We are a super location for all the adventures and activities that the region provides.
Walking and trekking; mountain climbing; windsurfing, surfing and kitesurfing; diving; links golf; horse riding; lake, shore and deep sea angling; water sports adventures for kids and teens; all are within a short distance from Castlegregory Station Houses!

Walking, Trekking & Mountain Climbing The most amazing beach strolls, walks, treks and mountain climbs are so close by. Ireland’s longest beach (12 miles long) stretches from the tip of the Maharees west to Cloghane village. Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second highest mountain is a short drive from Castlegregory and Glanteenassig and the Slieve Mish Mountains lie just south from the village. What a selection!

Windsurfing, Surfing and Kite Surfing From the top of the Conor Pass (Irelands highest mountain pass), you can see the whole horseshoe sweep of Brandon Bay facing NW. For a combination of surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, this is one of the best places in Europe. Within the area from Fermoyle to Scraggane Bay in the Maharees, you can experience all types of conditions suitable for everyone from beginners to professionals. Diving & Snorkelling The Maharees Islands, The Brandon Cliff face and the Blasket Islands offer the best diving in Ireland, from superb scenic dives to wreck dives. Waterworld at Scraggane Pier on the Maharees offers a combination of experiences for divers from beginners to the most experienced. Water Sports Adventure
There is a great Watersports Adventure Club for kids and teens at Sandy Bay on the Maharees. Clubs are available during the holiday season and activities include canoeing, paddle boating, surf biking, snorkelling, trampoline, catamaran sailing, banana riding and bouncy castle. Swimming The Maharees offers a Blue Flag Beach and the local waters are crystal clean. With sandy beaches and summer camps for the children, this is the ultimate seaside holiday!

Canoeing Canoeing is available at Waterworld Watersports at Sandy Bay.

Pony Trekking Pony trekking is available locally and includes the wonderful chance to trek along the beaches!

Links Golf
Castlegregory Golf Club is a superb 9 hole links course. Located between Lough Gill and Brandon Bay, the backdrop of Mount Brandon creates a magnificent vista while the challenges of the dunes makes every round a unique round! Dingle Golf Links, Ceann Sibéal, an 18 hole Championship Course is just a 40 minute drive from Castlegregory while the famous courses of Kerry – Killarney, Tralee and Ballybunion are within an hours drive.

Lake, Shore & Sea Angling
Fermoyle and Kilcummin are “Hot Spots” for shore anglers while Loughs Gill, Slat, Doon and Caum are favourites for local anglers. Deep Sea Angling is available from Dingle Pier and will allow you to fish in the crystal waters of Dingle Bay and Atlantic Ocean.

Cycling Hire a bike for a few days and explore the Dingle Peninsula with the wind running through your hair! A fantastic way to enjoy the magnificent sights and vistas.

Archaeology There are over 2,000 archaeological sites on the Dingle Peninsula with a number of renowned standing stones to be found in the Castlegregory area. Famous sites on the peninsula include Gallarus Oratory, Dunbeg Fort and the Beehive Huts. Rainy Days The Dingle Peninsula and Tralee offer great activities for the indoor days! Dingle Aquarium and Tralee’s Aquadome are a wonder for all ages particularly the children. Visit Dingle’s Climbing Wall for rigorous fun; The Blasket Centre for an amazing insight in to life on the Blasket Island and the Literary feats that were achieved; Tralee’s Geraldine Experience is a must for an introduction to the local history of the region; Dingle World of Leisure or Tralee’s Tobyworld for indoor fun for younger children; the latest films and entertainment at Dingle’s Phoenix Cinema or Tralee’s Cineplex; and of course, there is a choice of shopping in Dingle or Tralee with an immense variety of shops, galleries and craft shops.
